Kim Akers joined the BlueRun Ventures Finance team in 2009 as Controller. She was previously at Sequoia Capital, where she was responsible for the financial reporting for a number of their domestic and international growth and venture funds. Prior to that, she began her career at Deloitte in Los Angeles, where she earned her CPA license (inactive).
Kim graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting.

Cheryl Cheng has joined BlueRun as the Director of Marketing. Cheryl was previously at The Clorox Company where she worked in brand management focusing on new products and shopper marketing.
Prior to Clorox, Cheryl worked in early stage venture capital and technology mergers and acquisitions investment banking.
Cheryl has a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management.

Karen Eliadis, Chief Financial Officer, joined BlueRun Ventures in 2007 and is based in the Menlo Park office. Karen joined BlueRun Ventures from Sofinnova Ventures, a San Francisco-based technology and life science venture capital firm. Karen was responsible for all financial aspects of the Sofinnova venture funds.
Before joining Sofinnova, Karen was Managing Director, Finance for a private equity firm and held senior finance positions in several large organizations.
Karen began her career at Deloitte & Touche. She is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware. Karen currently serves on the board of VCBC, a 300+ member organization of finance professionals in venture capital and private equity across the United States, and is a member of the NVCA CFO Task Force.

Andrew Thornborrow, General Counsel, joined BlueRun Ventures in 2007 and is based in the Menlo Park office. Andrew joined BlueRun Ventures from Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP, a leading Silicon Valley law firm focused on the representation of technology companies. Andrew has represented start-up, emerging growth and public companies, venture capital funds and venture and institutional investors, and specializes in corporate and securities law, public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital fund formation.
He holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a B.A. in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
